Murdoch's advice to the 1893 eleven, ' bring a fast bowler, no matter where he pitches them, so long as he has the pace,'" or words to that eftect, reads well in the face of Jones' success on the present tour. Many enquiries have been made re yarding the pronounciation of Pougher. The correct style is " Puffer." LevisonGower is pronounced " LewsonGore." Ranjitsiuhji, the Indian prince, is likely to visit Australia as one of Stoddart's next eleven. Iredale has registeted four centuries during the Australians' present tour — a feat which no other Australian cricketer has ever accomplished. Gregory, Darling and Trott placed three centuries to their credit. Giffen aud Hill two, and Dounan one. In this connection it may bo mentioned that Iredale s highest score in first class cricket in the colonies is IS7 against South Australia last season. He made two centuries against Stoddart's team, viz., 133 for New South Wales, and 140 for Australia.
