The New Electorates.
0 The Napier Herald's Wellington correspondent writes : — I gather from a conversation with a mamber of the Representation Commission that the commissioners expect to finish the adjustment of the electorial boundaries much earlier than was generally expected. They anticipate that by the end of next week their preliminary work will be completed. After a sufficient time is given for sending in objections by sitting members of the House and others, the commissioners, will reassemble in order to consider the objections and prepare their report fos presentation to the Government, The, electoral rolls on the new basis will then, be printed, and as Parliament expires by the effluxion of time on the 4th December the elections will take place shortly afterwards. The North Island will gain three members, while the representatives of the South Island will be reduced by three. The Electoral Boundaries Commis. sioners will probably conclude thei^ labours, as far as the North Island i^ concerned, some time th^s week, and a. ruinon? is that' two, new electorates will be created between Wellington and New Plymouth, and one in the Auckland district.
