The Banking Committee.
(Per Press Association) Wellington, This Day. The Banking Committee resumed at 10.30. The Chairman read a reply from Mr John Murray, Sydney, stating he was writing to the Committee regarding his summons as a witness. A motion to again adjourn on account of no confidence motion was lost by 5 to 4. Mr Booth's examination was continued. He produced the papers asked for by the Committee. He declined to produce the reports of the officers of the Bank on the position of the Bank and the globo assets as they would divulge the accounts of customers of the Bank. He declined to produce at present the books, documents, papers, etc, relating to the above and other matters referred to in the order of reference and also decided, at present, to produce particulars of the recoveries in respect of the £200,000 contingent liability being part of the estimated losses ot the Bank referred to in the report of the Committee of 1895, page 2. The Premier thought now the Committee had got these documents it should adjourn. He therefore moved the Committee adjourn till Monday at 10.30. This was carried by 6to 4. The Committee rose at 11.10 a.m.
