Manchester Rifles.
The Morris tube match against the Napier Rifles took place in the Drill Hall last nipht, and resulted in a win for the Manchester Rifles by 25 points. Following are the scores : — Vol. Saywell, 28 ; Corp. J. Evans, 33 ; Sergt. Parker, 30 ; Vol. Wilson, 26 ; Vol. Parkes, 25 ; Vol. Scott, 14 ; Sergt. Aitken, 31 ; Vol. Richards, 29; Vol. T. Evans, 31 ; Lieut. Balthrop, 32. Total, 279. The Napier men fired some time apo and scored 254. Captain Flyger acted as umpire for the Napier Rifles last night. The return match will be fired shortly, also a match between the second teams if the men will roll up for practice. Following are the scores made by the Napier Rifles : — Corpl Pirie 31, Bugler Robson 31, Col Sergt Robson 26, Bugler Brown 21, Vol Drearer 25, Sergt Gleadow 31, Capt Chicken 27, Vol Bickerstaff 25, Sergt Trask 24, Vol Blamist 13, total 254. Mr H. A. Cornfoot, solicitor, acted as umpire at Napier for the Manchester Rifles.
