OFFICERS AND CREW OF A SHIP MISSING. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, This Day. The ship Hawkesdale which arrived from Liverpool, reports when two days out she met the German barque Atlantic coal-laden, in a sinking condition and rescued the crew who were afterwards transferred to a passing German ship. The Atlantic sprung a leak during a succession of terrific gales and had been knocking about for many days till the crew were worn oat by exhaustion and privation. Adelaide, This Day. A wreck supposed to be that of the barque Orange Grove has been washed ashore at Cape Leeuwin. The barque left Albany for Homelin to load timber for Natal on Jane 30th and is supposed to have foundered in the heavy gale experienced a fortnight ago. Capt. Atkins and a crew of eight are missing.
