Wanganui Education Board.

The Education Board met at Wanganui yesterday. Present — Meurs Carson (chairman), Sanson, Robbins, Fry, Baker, F. Pirani, Lethbridge, Hurley any Ross. The following appointments wera agreed to : — Terrace End — Evelyn O'Donnell appointed cadet. Alton — H. R. Bowater appointed master. Ratanui — John Love appointed master. The following appointments of pupil teachers were made : — Fernley Canopbell to Upper Tutaenui, Ann Mousiey to Feilding, Mabel Billens to Marton, Anita Cassidy to JVlangatoki, Lily McKenna to Araruoho, Ethel Bell to Wanganui Girls, V. W. A. Swinbourne to Maxwell, Frank Foster to Okaiawa, Florence Mclldowie to Matapu, Mary Mantle to Hurleyviile, Winifred Ray to Cheltenham, Walter Gibbs to Sandon, Clare Crowhurst to Manaia, Dora Reed to Ashurst, Florence Standen to Stoney Creek, Kate Cicely to Hawera, Jas Worsopp to Patea, Grace Parkes to Westmere Carnarvon — Miss Ecclesfield granted additional leave of absence for three months without pay. Hawera — E, M. George appointed junior assistant, M. Stagpoole appointed probationer, William George appointed cadet. Sandon — L. G. Verry appointed cadet. Feilding — Arthur Haybittle appointed cadet. Only one tender was received for additions to Campbelltown school and residence (J. H. Dillon), which was accepted, the price being £223. Fresh tenders are to be called for additions to the Pihama school and new residence at Hawera. Mr Pirani stated he waited on the Minister of Lands re grant towards the school at Wairakei beyond Rangiwahia, and promised £30, and would allow the Government Inspector to get the timber sawn for the school A letter was read to that effect. The Board decided to thank the Minister for the assistance. Kelvin Grove — £3 granted towards fencing, etc. Campbell-street — Carpenter to attend to blinds, etc.
