" FADING AWAY."
In connection with the rumour which has been circulated within the last few days to the effect that the Minister for Railways is about to resign that position, the Standard of this morning says : — " It is stated that the primary cause of Mr Cadman's intended resignation is on account of the Premier's interference with his department. This may or may not be correct, but if Mr Seddon is of the opinion that he can run a one-man Government, we think ho will find out his mistake, and that in attempting to carry out that idea he will shake the confidence of the Liberal party and risk the overthrow of his Governrueut. Mr Seddon is physically a strong man, but he will discover as the session advances that tbe task of attending to so many departments will wear him down, as well as causing party measures to suffer." Mr Seddon, it would appear, is carying his " oneman-one-vote " too far when he tries to '• run the whole show " on the " one-man-one-Government " system.
