The Armenian Massacres.
A lady residing in one of the Fran* ciscan missionary stations in the Orfah district has described the scenes of mas* sacre and desolation there. She says ; —On October 28th there were aboot 1000 Armenian families residing at Orfah. After December 29th there were only 500 families who had not suffered. As many as 400 families have been completely euterminated, and upwards of 8000 others. It is estimated that the total number of grown men and poung people who have been murdered sxceeds 8000 ; it is certain that aboot 3000 women and children were killed . n the Armenian church, whither they lad fled for safety. Only 80 out of .bout 700 wounded bare recovered from ibeir injuries. AH the Armenian houses lave been plundered and destroyed, md 300 bazaars owned by Armenians taye been looted and rased to the pound*. The last attack occurred quite inexpectedly pa a Saturday, which is t day on whioh inbst bfj the families , vasb their, linen. The disaster was errible. There were more than Y IOOO ictims in the course of y twenty •four tours. " v
