The Vacant Judgeship.
It is stated that before he left Wellington District Judge Ward was offered the vacant Judgeship, and refused it, as he intends shortly to retire from the Bench on pension. Mr Edwards is still looked upon as the probable successor to Sir Patrick Buckley. Ministers, however, are reticent on the subject.
