AUSTRALIANS v. YORKSHIRE.
(Per Press Association.) London, June 16. As the weather showed signs of improvement during the day the match was resumed. The Home team, with 7 wickets down for 96, resumed batting. Despite the fact that heavy showers fell, which caused an interruption in the game at intervals, the attendance was good, but the soddened nature of the wicket prevented &ny exhibition of cricket. The remainder of the Home team made but a poor Btnnd, and only 12 runs were added to yesterday's total when the last wicket fell, Denton, the not out man of yesterday with 28, carrying out his bat for 36. Jones was the most destructive bowler, securing 7 wickets for 36, Trott 1 for 22, Giffen 1 for 36. In their second innings the Australians lost 1 wicket for 31 when the stumps were drawn for the duy. Darling was caught by Tnnicliffa off Wainwright for 21, and Graham (not out) 10. June 17. The continuous heavy rain rendered the wicket completely unfit for further play, and the mutch was abandoned.
