Apiti Notes.
» [from our own correspondent.] On Monday, the Bth inst., Hugo's minstrel troupe visited Apiti, and though the weather was very rough, the house was crowded. The performance proved very entertaining, being the best of the kind ever seen in Apiti. A Leap Year Ball was given by the ladies of Apiti on Friday night. Gny's hall, which was nicely decorated for the occasion, was fnll of visitors from all parts of the district, and all seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely. Dancieg was kept up till 5 a.m. The ladies wbo formed the committee deserve great credit for tbe capable manner in which all the arrangements were carried out and they were loudly cheered before the dance broke up. Mr J. Pawson acted as M.C. We have been having some very severe frosts here lately, in some places the ground being covered all day and as a consequence tbe grass is beginning to get very scarce. The anniversary of the Wesleyan Church occurs ou Wednesday, June 23rd. Special services will be held next Sunday and a concert will be given on tbe Wednesday in honor ofthe occasion.
