(Per Press Association.) Capetown, June 9. Bettleheira, Turkish Consul in the Rand, is suing the Cape Government for L 50.000 damages for illegal arrest for treason. Madrid. June 10. Forty-seven Anarchists have been arrested at Barcelona, and a quantity of bombs seized. London, Juno 10. Mrs Dyer, convicted of wholesale infanticide, was hanged to-day. May Gore, an actress sued Lord Dudley for L 15.000 damages for breach of promise. A verdict was returned'for defendant, who, however agreed to settle L3OOO on plaintiff. The presidents of tbe Liverpool and Manchester Chambers of Commerce and the Radical Press, condemn the idea oj preferential duties. Congress passed a resolution generally in favour of closer commercial relations between all parts of the Empire, and demands prompt consideration of the ques tion by Government. Athens, June 11.
