Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — At Pahiatua, on Tuesday, cattle were in excess of :hose advertised. Moderate values ruled for steers. Sound weaners commanded full rates, while female stock and weakly weaners were not required. A small number of sheep found purchasers at recent rates. Forward steers, L 4 5a ; 2£-year do , to L3s* ; 2-year &0., L 2 7a ; weaner steers, 31s 6d ; small do., 24s ; forward cows. L 4 4s ; fat do., L 41 0; 18-month heifers, L 2 ; springing heifers, L 3. Eorward wethers, 8s lid ; store do., 8s; empty ewes, (poor), 3s 3d. At Palmerston yesterday an odd pen or two of useful steers represented the entry of cattle. 3- years steers, L 4 9s. Sheep, in fewer numbers were firm throughout. We have no alteration in value to report. Store wethers, 8s to 9s; others, 7s ; fat ewes 8s ; empty ewes, 5s lOd to 69 9d ; fat ewes in lutnb, 6s to 6s 2,d.
