The enemy's grain boats are captured, and all tbe Dervishes North of Suarda are killed or captured. The Egyptian forces hold the Nile Valley to that point. Many of the prisoners captured at Ferkeh have been recognised by Slatin Bey, including an Emir, who befriended him while he was a prisoner in Soudan. Slatin writes from Suakim that the Khalifa daily persecutes European prisoners and threatens to put them to death.
