Stanbury the Sculler.

THE REPORT THAT HE WAS DRO WNE D INCORRECT. (Per Press Association.) London, June 8. Happily the report that Stanbury was drowned turned out to be untrue. He was capsized, but reached the shore safely. June 9. It appears that Stanbury lost a scull while out practising, and- in trying to recover it, upset his shell. He dived into the river, and his empty boat was found by a passing skiff, which at first led to the belief that he had been drowned. He has since resumed training. Sydney, This Day, The reported drowning of Stanbury caused a great sensation here and in Melbourne, with a corresponding feeling of relief when the second cable was received.
