Temperance Convention at Auckland.
(Per Presß Association.) Auckland, This Day. The Temperance Convention ia the Auckland province yesterday formed a Divisional Prohibition Council represeuting all the electorates. The convention expressed satisfaction at the provision in the last Liquor Bill for taking the local option poll on the several election days, and appealed to Parliament to resist an attempt to get this provision altered. It was also resolved that the provisions in the Act for enforcing the law in future in a prohibition district should be made immediately applicable to the King Country, Uriwera country, and all branches and ridings in which no licenses exist.
