(Per Press Association.) Nelson, May 19. Mr Fred Sutton, J.P., today sued Mr Gnndell, Native Interpreter, for £3 3s, for attesting signatures of natives to deeds, and use of time and office. He mentiouad a number of names of lawyers charging cash fees, contending that he was equally entitled. — Mr Cornford, for the defence, quoted Johnstone's Oath for Justices, under which they are bound to accept no payment for services as justices. Mr Sutton denied that he had ever taken any such oath. The Magistrate, after hearing argument, nonsuited him.
