THE ARDGOWAN ESTATE. | Per Press Association.! Auckland, May 12. A dwelling house at Penrose, the property of J. H. Siddle was destroyed by fire. A part of the furniture was saved by the railway platelayers. The building was insured for £200, and the furniture for iwo in the North German office. At tho annual meeting of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, the report stated the proceeds of the late bazaar were ±'515. The credit balance at the end of the financial year was j£735. The Bank of New Zealand shipped by the Takapuna for transhipment to the Kaikonra for London gold and bullion to the value of £22,328. Six natives were committed for sheep stealing at Mongonni. Dunecin, May 12. The applications for the Ardgowan estate number about 750, averaging four to five sections each. Nearly the whole of the applications have been received in Oamaru.
