Brunner Relief Fund.
(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, May 11. At a meeting of the Brunner Relief Fund Committee the treasurer reported that the fund collected in Dunedin to date amounted to over £2645. There are several lists to come in yet, aud of the Daily Times fund of over £400, over £50 has not been paid in, so that the list is over £3000. After discussion it was resolved — " That in the opinion of this meeting it is advisable to adhere to the previous resolution, namely, to leave the plan of distribution of the fund to the municipal conference to meet in Wellington in July, and that the Premier be telegraphed to this effect, and informing him tbat other centres approve of tbis, and also stating tbat the committee presume the meeting convened by him for next Thursday is not to be held." Wellington, May 11. At a meeting of the Brunner Relief Fund Committee it was reported that tbe snm of £3426 had been collected in Wellington and district. The following resolution was carried :—" That in the opinion of tbis meeting tbe funds collected sbould be first applied for the relief of the the sufferers from the Brunnerton disaster, but after such relief, if it be found there is any balance, it should be applied for mining accidents generally." Melbourne, May 11. The Brunner relief fund now amounts to over £800.
