MR HORNER'S BANQUET.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— Please allow me space in your valuable paper to make a few comments upon the bad management of the committee of Mr Homer's Banquet. Sir, can you tell me why some of our prominent ratepayers should not have received invitations ? A large number of Mr Homer's friends were not invited. The late election may have had something to do with it, Some of the, prominent supporters of the defeated candidate were not present and, upon enquiry, I find that they were not invited. I am surprised .that people who have no vote in the Council should accept such a prominent position. Doubtless they have an object in view. I am, etc., Fair Play.
