OUTBREAK OF CHOLERA. (Per Press Association). Sydney, May 5. The Civil Service Board have completed a re-organisation of the Chief Secretary's Department, and a saving of twenty thousand pounds per annum has been effected. There is some prospect of the crane employers joining the miners' strike. If they do the shipment of coal will be blocked. Adelaide, This Day. The steamer Argus from Calcutta lost three passengers on the voyage from cholera. Hobart, This Day. The Premier has wired to the Premier of New South Wales, urging that a joint cable message be sent by the Colonial Governments to President Kruger, asking that leniency be extended towards the members of the Reform Committee.
