The Coromandel Post Office Broken Into.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, May 6. Last night a desperate attempt was made to burglarise the Post Office at Coromandel, of everything of value, including stamps, registered letters, and cash locked up in the safe, to open which an unsuccessful but desperate attempt was made. In the office packets of letters were torn open, but so far it is impossible to say if any were taken. It appears that an entrance was effected at the back door, a pick having been used to force the lock. The pick was found this morning behind a blacksmith's shop, with the point broken.
