Feilding Harmonic Society.
The adjourned general meeting of the above Society was held in the Forester's Hall last evening. There was a good attendance of members, and Mr Andrew was voted to the chair. Proposed by Mr H. Giesen, seconded by Mr Johnston, That the Rev. Innea Jones be elected President, and Mrs Macarthur, Dr Sorley, Messrs Lethbridge, Bagnall, and J. Hill, vice-Presi-dents. — Carried. • Proposed by Mr Andrew, seconded by Mr Johnston, That Mr Greenwood be elected conductor, and Mrs CaldwelJ pianiste. — Carried. The Secretary was instructed to write to the above ladies and gentlemen aski ing them to accept the various offices, Proposed by Mr Andrew, seconded by Mr Diamond, that Mr Giesen be ap^ pointed Secretary. — Carried.. Proposed by Mr Qiesen, seconded by Mr Johnston, That the first practice he, ' held in the Forester's gallon Thursday, May 7th.— Carried. The canvassing committee reported having obtained the names of fourteen, new members. The usual vote of thanks to the chair terminated a very successful meeting.
