Mr Chas. Carr's Feilding Sale Yards.

With commendable enterprise and foresight as to the requirements of such a prosperous district as Feilding is surrounded by, Mr C. Carr, who recommenced business as an auctioneer about two months ago, has had his Feilding yards thoroughly renovated, and they are now second to none' in the colony, no expense having been spared by Mr Carr in this respect. Several new pens have been erected for the accommodation of sheep, and now there are sufficient to yard about 15,000 sheep, in addition to a large number of cattle. In fact, the yardage for cattle is greater than at any other sale yards in the district, Settlers driving cattle or sheep to Mr Carr's sales will be able to put their stock in the pens from either the front or rear of the yards, so that there is no possibility of their being put to any inconvenience by having to hold their stock on the roads while others are yarding. Most of tlje pens have two gates, wnich. is an additional convenience. An improvement, sure to be appreciated, is the erection of three | drafting races. The yards have been covered throughout with a good depth of metal, and the drainage, has, also, been well attended to, so that stock will not be half buried in mud and slush as is too often the case, but will be comfortably placed, and at the same time exhibited to intending purchasers to the best advantage. The hand rails all around the cattle yards have also been attended to. The last, but by no means least, improvement is a concrete sheep dip, which has been constructed on the most approved . principles, with two drying pens, a well, and large tank for the supply of water to the dip. Although so very recently erected, the dip has already been taken advantage of. In conclus-' ion we have no hesitation in predicting that Mr Carr's enterprise in providing such convenient yards will be much appreciated by settlers and others, and that he will reap the benefit to which he is so justly entitled. In passing, it might be mentioned that Mr Carres, also, having his yards at Birmingham renovated, besides having an office erected on the same site. ___^
