Rangiwahia Notes.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. | A move is being made at last to bring the Pemberton school house up, and rebuild it in the Rangiwahia township. Mr McKinnon, the contractor, is doing his best, but, tlie roads being so badly cut up* by constant rain and traffic, mako the job a difficult one. It was found impossible to move tho building whole, so it was decided to completely take it to pieces. What with the completion of Messrs Martin's houses, the rebuilding of the school, and the fencing in of tbe recreation grouud, Rangiwahia presents quite a improved appearance. The weather broke yesterday, after a tine, dry, frosty spell. It has rained incessantly since half-past six on Sunday evening, and still continues (Monday night), showing no sign of ceasing. The Good Templars held a most successful meeting last Saturday eveniug, about thirty members being present. As it was au open session, a coffee supper was held. Next Saturday, May 2nd, a coffee suoper will be held in the Wesleyan Church to welcome the Revd. Mr Peryman to bis new circuit. It is to be hoped the weather will clear up before the appointed day. We are glad to welcome to our midst as permanent settelrs the Messrs Thomson (2) and their families. One has gone on to Wairakei, the other resides for a time in this township, the roads being too bad to allow his children to ride to school should he go to live on his own sectiou, which is about five miles furthor up country.
