Mr Reid, Premier of New South Wales, who is on his way to Broken Hill, had an interview with Premier Turner, at wbich they discussed federatien, federal defence and a number of intercolonial matters, including the question of a uniform railway "gauge between Sydney and Melbourne. Ne'g6tiations on this subject have been proceeding for" iso'tfie'ti toe. One proposal is to relay the Victorian lines bn tbe New 'Sonttt Wales gauge ahd another is'tb build a new and uniform through line 1 , '6aph 'colony bearing half the ooslt in 'eithe^fease. , ' '
