The letter of "Parent," which appeared -in our columns yesterday, is worthy of the earnest attention of every parent or guardian in the town of Feilding whose children are attending %he State school. There can be no question that the members of the re tiring committee have done their duty to the very best oi their ability, and 'taken advantage ci eyery available opportunity of helping on thg. school But, as " Parent " points out or j rather hints, no very great interest bas Utterly been evinced in the election of the co#»mjttee, and even then only j when there -ar^g what was pleasantly called ".a row "on. At such times tbe electors roiled up in yast numbers and created an excitement which lasted'; _=-twenty-four hours after the result of 'j : the pfill was made known. Latterly, the relation* between the committee, the teachers, an,<i paren<s, have been aniicable, any 4istua?££ce& of the h&r^pny having been quickiy eaJ^jed dow,n by tho exercise of common sense' and mutu.a,! As a natural consequence, the sy>rk has been well done, and the £oo.mitte,e ■$#$• be said to have 4&&n&A and earned <MA c fidenee of the jpkaf.«n£s ' Under thes,e circa instances. tber, efoi<*, w,e .do not anticipate thit any members of o ,e existing committee who offer iEJbfiftiselves tor re-election will be rejected. We agree with our correspondent in in facing that there will be a large attend anoe -of the electors at the meeting io tim fvqfcpol.bouse on Monday ■ night.
