SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sik,—Will you kindly allow me to draw the attention of parents and guardians to the school committee election on Monday evening next. I would like to urge ail, who have at heart the proper education and training of the children, to come to that meeting. In Marton, and elsewhere, very general interest is taken in this important annual event. I well remember, even in Feilding, things were different years ago. We saw the schoolroom full of parents on these occasious. I write impartially. Let those who approve of the way in which the business of the school has been carried on, come and show their approval and thus encourage the men who have attended to their thankless duties for a whole year. On the other hand, let all. who think the affairs of the school can be better conducted, come, nominate, and support the candidates of their choice; but, let uot indifference keep you at home. Please to remember that your children are under school influence, which is the strongest they meet with, for about 30 hours a week. I would like very much to see many of the mothers come, and better still some of them on the future committee. They are elsewhere, why not in Feilding ? If any public business should command their attention, surely this should. What we want in brief, is a large meeting and a good choice of candidates. I am, &c, Parent.
