Messrs Abraham and Williams re* port :— At Colyton on Tuesday we had good entries of sheep, including a good lice of 2 and 4-tooth wethers ; dry sheep sold j freely, mostly making a good advance ! on recent rates, but ewes in lamb were j reflected. This improvement was if j anything more marked at Palmerston yesterday, the quality of the sheep, offered, mostly good lines of forward wethers, produced brisk competition, and we disposed of the whole of the sheep offered at prices mostly beyond owners' expectations ; cattle, in moderate numbers, were slow of sale with the exception of good quality young cattle. We quote : — At Colyton.- Sheep— Forward wethers 8s to 8s sd ; others, 6s 9d to 7s Id ; ' fat ewes, 6s Id ; store do, 2s lid to 4s 3d ; culls, Is 8d ; wooly lambs, 4s 5d ; small shorn lambs, 2s 6d. Cattle— Yearlings, 37s 6d ; weaners, 15s to 18s. At Palmerston. — Sheep — Forward wethers, 8s 4d, 8s sd, 8s 7d, 8s Bd, and 8s 9d ; 2-tooth do, 6s 6d to 7s 6d ; culls, 5s 9d to 6s 3d ; forward empty ewes, 4s 6d to 5s 9d ; 2 and 4-tooth ewes, 6s 5d to 7s ; 2-tooth ewes (empty), 6s ; woolly lambs, 4s 3d to 4s Bd. Cattle — Forward bullocks, £ 4 18s ; fat cows, £3 15s to M 18s ; 2£ year steers, £'6 ; 2-year steers, £2 19a ; yearting and 18-months steers, 39s to £2 5s ; weaners, 20s. We have numerous enquiries for good shorn woolly lambs. I Per Press Association.! Cheistchubch, April 22. The entries in most classes of stock at Addington Yards to-day were good. Fat cattle — Steers brought from i! 5 to £9 15s ; heifers, £4 17s 6d to £1 2s 6d ; and cows, .£4 to £7. Dairy cows -Best cows springing and just calved realised from £6 to £8 ; others, from £'6 to £5 10s. Store cattle The entry was mainly of aged cows, and the business done affords no indication of values. Fat sheep — The market was well supplied, and there was an improveed demand for all classes, the advance being particularly noticeable in freezing sheep and best ewes. Best freezing \ ■wethers, 13s 6d to 15s 7d ; medium \ wethers, 11s to 13s 6d ; good sorts, 9s to j 10s ; inferior, 7s 6d to 8s 9d ; merino ewes 5s to 7s 6d. Fat lambs — Fat lambs came forward in fairly large numbers, and met with good demand, all being sold at from 10s to 12s 6d for prime sorts, and. 7s 6cl to 8s 9d for inferior to medium. Store sheep— Large entry, and good demand for all healthy well doing sorts, but cull lambs and inferior ewes were not sought after. Pigs— A medium entry of pigs contained some very good fat sorts, which showed an advance of about per lb, whilst stores rose from 2s 6d to 4s per head. ___ ___^^___
