Manawatu Rugby Union.

♦ ■- A meeting of delegates to the Manawatu Rugby Uuion was held in the Manchester Hotel last evening, when the following delegates were present : — Messrs L.. Storey and I. Fake (Palmorston), H. and i_. Nash (Pirates), P. Giesen aud W. Shannon (Feildiug), A. G. Carty and H. Palmer (Foxton), W. Briokmauu (Red Star), W. J. Hammond (Rongotea). Mr Storey waa voted to the chair. Letters wore received from the Foxton, Kotinga (Awahuri). aud Rongotea Clubs applying for affiliation to tbe Union. Correspondence was received from the N.Z. Rugby Union endorsing the disqualification of A. W. O'Dwyer by the Marlborough Union, for failing to pay his share of the cost of a tour. The secretary, Mr Palmer, read tho report and baiauce sheet, showing a debit balance of £\\ 2s 6d. The report stated that only two rep. matches were played, viz., with Wellington and Waugauui, losing the former aud winning the latter. The report and balance sheet were adopted. Resolved, That the Foxton club be admitted to the Uniou as a senior club, and Rongotea and Kotinga be admitted as juniors. Resolved, That all senior and junior matches be played on Saturdays, with the proviso tbat matches against tbe Red Stars be played on Wednesdays. In reply to a communication from the N.Z.R.U., it was decided to state that this Union would probably send a rep. team to play Wanganui and Taranaki during this season. Resolved, That rule 4 be altered to read That tlie managing committee consist of the delegates who shall decide all protests. That au executive committee of three be elected to discharge all routine business, and that Palmerston be selected the head-quarters of such committee. Meetings to deal with protests to be held alternately at Feilding and Paimerston. Resolved, That each club affiliated to tbe Uniou be requested to nominate one delegate for election on the executive committee. Resolved, Tbat Messrs W. Dickson (Red Stars) and C. H. Bowater (Rongotea) be elected vice-presidents of the Union. Permission was granted the Red Stars to play Colyton on Wednesday ; Paimerston II to play Pohangina ; and Rongotea to play Awahnri. Resolved, That senior championship matches commence on May 9) and that the seniors play three and the juniors two rounds. Resolved, Tbat the secretaries of all clubs in the Union shall supply the Union with the names of all playing members three days before the first championship matches, and that notification of all new members be seut to the secretary from time tc time.
