Rush of English Capital for New Zealand Mines.

(Per Press Association) Auckland, April 20. Mr C J. Hutchison received a cablegram today from tbe London negotiators for the purchase of the Waitete property asking him to forward a power of attorney. It is inferred from this ' that the purchase* of the Waitete pro- < perty has been decided upon. Intelligence has been received by cable stating tbat a further deposit of i'looo, making £2000 in all, has beeu paid in London by tbe parties purchasing the New Alburnia property. The directors of the Alpha met on Saturday to consider a cablegram which bad been received from London containing amended terms for flotation of the Alpha property. The directors have submitted otber terms in reply. Apparently negotiations for the sale of the Hazelbauk aud Kuranui properties in London are approaching a successful ter miuation, as the. secretary, Mr F. A. White, received a cablegram from Mr T. Melviile, asking that the names suggested for a local Home. At a meeting of directors this morning it was resolved to reply authorising the use of any of the names of the present directors. It is understood that a cablegram has been received, stating that a contract tor the purchase of tbe Coromandel Free- ' hold Proprietary bas been signed iu London. The directors in tbe Waibi Consols ' Company agreed, at a meeting beld today, to accept an offer for tbe property ' received from London on Saturday.
