Hobart, This Day. Mr Manning, Clerk of the Assembly, died suddenly. At the inquest ifc was found death was due to laudanum, which Mr Manning had taken \, to allay pain. Melbourne, This Day. Two brothers named Ellis, when fishing on" Geclong the boat capsized. Both were drowued. At the inquest on Mrs McCarthy, who was found murdered near Ballarat, an open verdict was returned. The jury expressed an opinion that there was no evidence against Mrs Trait, who bowever, has been remanded in custody.
