Bowling News.
o (Per Press Association). Sydney, This Day. The bowling tournament, New South Wales v. Victoria, was won by the home team by 101 points to 77. Two rinks from the Thorndqn Club paid a visit to Wangauui, Feilding acd Palmerston North daring the Easter holidays, and had a most enjoyable trip. Fine weather and a bright sunny sky accompanied them wherever they went, and their welcome was as warm and genial as the weather. They played at Wanganui on Good Friday, and just managed to beat the local club by two points. This, it is delieved, is the first time a Wellington club has defeated Wanganui on its own green. On the Saturday the team proceeded to Feilding, where they were right royally entertained by the local players, and after a close and exciting game they were defeated. The Feilding Bowling green promises to be one of the best in tho North Island, and the members will soon take a high place amongst the bowlers. On Sunday evening Palmerston North was reached. Owing to bad weather, however, Monday's game had to be abandoned. Marked enthusiasm is springing up along the West Coast and Napier for bowling, and very soon every township will have its green. Hawera and Danevirke have recently established clubs, and there is a proposal on foot to start a second club in Palmerston N. The Exhibition Tournament to be held in Wellington next January is exciting a great deal of interest, and no doubt the country clubs will send many competitors. — N.Z, Times.
