A Phmsoll Wanted for Australian Shipping.
(Per Press Association.) Melbourne, March 28. The Sangster Board is enquiring into a charge of the load line of the steamer Buningong improperly shifted eighteen inches, and the Marine Board took no steps to investigate till after it was shifted back to the proper place. Sayer, one of the steamer's crew, stated the vessel was stopped when leaving Sydney and a quantity of cargo discharged. When she reached Melbourne the load lino was put up eighteen inches. She stole away from Sydney late at night. Belfrage, an official of tbe Seaman's Union, gtated he called the attention pf the Marine Board to the fact of the. old load line being painted out and new marks painted above thp board. He promised to report matters to the proper officer when the Buningong returned, but when she did the old marks had been restored. Sangster corroborated these witnesses.
