The Miner's Strike.

- O(Per Press Association.) Sydney, March 25. The Delegate Board report the result of the ballot as follows :— For strike, 2 600 ; against strike, 580. Majority for .irike, 2020. . It was decided to give 14 days' notice of general stoppage of work, the notice to date from April 6th. This Day. r Mr Brennan, Treasurer of the Australian Labor Federation, states federation sympathisers are likely to support the Newcastle men, and every effort will be made to obtain all the assistance possible. The Bush Unions and many other strong societies affiliated with federation are prepared to come to their help. Not only the miners bat labour generally is better organised than for the past six years, as now unionists have joined the Association, or are prepared to throw in their lot with them in the present crisis. Although nc concerted action has been decided upon by the Colliery proprietors it is gathered the whole of them are determined where the decision is to give no advance. Interviews go to show that few if any of the large companies will be represented at the proposed conference. It is understood the masters will offer passive resistance and allow the men to leave the pits without offering to make a compromise. Some have declared an intention to close the pits and have already taken steps to cancel the orders. The Newcastle company's pit was laid idle yesterday owing to a strike of wheelers. Other men were obtained, but the miners refused to work with them.
