Leonard Harper's Trials

FURTHER CHARGES ABANDONED. J Wellington, March 20. In the Gillett case against Harper, a charge of converting to his own use the sum of £2,250, out of £5,000 entrusted to him by Mr H. H. Gillet, of England for investment, the witnesses were much the same as in the previous case. The hearing lasted all day, and the jury after a retirement of half an hour returned a verdict of not guilty. The Court adjourned till Monday. This Day. The Crown has abandoned the remaining charges against Leonard Harper.
