Norton has been awarded list for the Grand National Steeplechase of £2500, to be run on Friday, March 27th, at Aintree. The Waipawa Mail hears on good authority that the Metropolitan Club of Hawke's Bay intends to follow the example set by the Wellington Metropolitan Club, and will refuse to pass the programme of any clubs that have obtained tofcalisafcor permits from the Government. This will mean that the Waipawa Racing Club will not be able to hold a winter meeting. (Per Press Association.) Napier, March 20. The following amounts have been paid over to the whining owners at the H.B. J.C Autumn Meeting :— G. Hunter £546 ss, G. G. Stead £411 7s, Hon. J. D.Ormond £251 15s, J. Handon £142 10s, W. Rathbone £90 ss, W. Douglas £85 10s, G. E. G. Richardson £85 10s, T. Morrin £66 10s, aucl smaller amounts, totalling £1888 12s.
