Feilding School Committee.
A meeting of the Feilding School Committee was held last evening. Present—Messrs H. Worsfold (chairman), A. W. Parker (secretary), J. Gould, R. J. Thompson, W. Carthew, C. Bray, W. G. Shearer, J. Taylor. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence^ was received from the Traffic Manager, Railway Department, stating that they could not put on a special excursion train on March 13, but would do so on Monday 16th inst. The head master's monthly report was read showing the average attendance since the holidays was 830. The attendance yesterday was 351. It was resolved, That the resolution of last meeting be rescinded, and that the necessary arrangements be made for a children's excursion to the Wanganui Heads. Resolved, That the school excursion be on Monday, 16th instant, as suggested by the Railway Department. It was decided to inform the committees of the Bunnytborpe, Taonui, and Colyton schools of the proposed excursion, and ask them if they will hold theirs on $be same day. Messrs Palmer and Cp., confectioners, offered a few tins of their sweets for distribution amongst the children, and it was decided to accept the offer with thanks. Notice of motion was given by Mr Shearer to re-open Mrs Barker's complaint against one of the teachers. Messrs Worsfold and Carthew were appointed a visiting Committee for the ensuing month, and the meeting then adjonrned.
