The War in Abyssinia.

(Per Press Association.) Rome, March 7. General Baldiserra reports that the position in Abyssinia is very serious. It is impossible, he says, to relieve 2000 Italian troops who might take refuge at Alrijat. He says he asked for reinforcemeuts to relieve the garrison at Asmara. A large army of Dervishes surrounded and isolated Kassala, and then cut the wires. Two thousand men had left Asmara for the relief of those surrounded, and it is feared they have been intercepted. Fifty cities have carried resolutions protesting against the conduct of Signor Orispi, aud demand that peace be declared. Three thousand rioters have been arrested in Home. The riots have been renewed in Calliauio, aud the Miltau troops charged the mob and fired their revolvers. Fourteen people were wounded. The Shoans have captured General Arimoudc. i March 8. It is reported IS9 officers succeeded in escaping to Adowa.
