A Licensing Scandal.

(Per Press Association.) Melbourne, This Day. In the charge against Bear, Rapiport, and Baxter, that they accepted a bribe in a licensing case, the principal witness for the Crown, Gilbert Hmith, who was recently arrested at Perth on a charge of perjury, refused to give evidence. The other witnesses, however, swear that bribes had been given, but Rapiport and Baxter swear they never received a bribe and that they did nob know the landlady of the hotel in question. An endeavour will be made to force Smith to give evidence^
