Apiti Notes.
(FROM A CORRESPONDENT.) The Hope of Apiti Lodge held its usually quarterly meeting on Saturday night, when the following officers were elected :— L.D., Bro. C. S. Potts ; C.T., Bro. A. Dick ; V.T., Sis. R. Buckman ; P.C.T., Bro. W. Moore; S., Bro. E. Dally ; T.S., Bro. J. S. Dally ; C, Sis. J. Buckman ; T., Bro. H. Osborne; M., Bro. W. Butterworth ; D.M., Bro. J. Nix ; G., Bro. F. Osborne ; S., Bro. R. Dick. About fifty members were present. Three new members were initiated and others proposed. After tho formal business was over coffee and refreshments were handed round. Sunday last was a wild day, and bnsb fires were raging all round. At about one o'clock a very strong gale sprung up which drove the fire on to|Mr R. Stewart's property, with the result that that a considerable amount of damage was done, burning down fences, and, also, Mr Stewart's hay stack.* The house being in great danger for a time, but was saved by the family and assistance from the neighbors.
