* Horseowners are reminded that nomi--1 nations for the Manawatu Autumn Meet- ' ing close with the Secretary, Mr C. C. ' Miles, at 10 o'clock on Friday evening. In a Maiden Hack Hurdle Race in the Taurauga district, seven horses took part, and there was no less than 32 spills 1 in the race. So says an Auckland paper. Aud the riders escaped unhurt I This is the most unique race on record without a doubt. The match for £50 aside, arranged to be run on the Woodville course on Monday between Kauri Gum and Slumber, was put off owing to Slunuber being out of sorts. i ■
