Fires in Christchurch.

"O (Per Press Association.) Chsistchchch, February 2. At 12 o'clock on Saturday night three cottages in Wordsworth-street, Sydenham were burned down. One was of six rooms owned and occupied by William Rogers, stoker at tbe gas works. Another of three rooms, belonging to Chas. Boder, and occupied by Geo. McNicol. and the third of six rooms, owned and occupied by Geo. Russll, a cooper. The fire began in tbe wall near the chimney in Roger'B bouse. All the contents were destroyed. The furniture of the others were saved. At 1.45 o'clock on Sunday morning a fire broke out in the upstairs in the men's clothing department of Mr G. L. Beath's shop, Cashel street. It was confined to the department in which it originated.
