The Transvaal Trouble.
(Per Press Association.) Pretoria, January 30. President Kruger has proclaimed his intention of closing the mines, his excuse being that this step is necessary owing to the continuance oi' tbe commotion in the Transvaal. He says the Government will guarantee protection of the industry, and facilitate native labour.
