(Per Press Association) Melbourne. January 28. Afc the cycling Carnival, Great Wheel Racp, two miles, resulted ; — H. Uourigan, 110 yds, 1 ; J. Carpenter, 120 yds, 2| D. Grantor, 190 yds, 0. A closo finish, won by half a wheeb Time, 4min 35 3-ssec. Parsons started from, scratch but could not make up the handicap. Pither was scratched. Sydney, January, 29. Martin (fche American) and Lewis (the local champion) have been matched for a five-mile race at the Carnival meeting in March. Parsons has accopted Martin's challenge for one, five, and ten mile contests for £25 aside. The events will be run in Melbourne, but the date has not been fixed.
