X In view of the alarming mortality through heat, the Board pf Health has wited instructions to all towns where the thermometer is 100 and over how to V treat cases and prevent sunstroke. To-day's country records are — Nyma- ■• V gee, 121 ; Wilcannia, 120-5 ; Brewarrina, • 119; Broken Hill and Bburke. 115; Wagga, 116-5. Ten deaths were recorded in .the Mount Brown district, five .'■"'-■:. Vat Brewarrinai^ and three at Broken Hill.. Many isolated cases are recorded, especially in the case of children. ■■;_'■ V \ Melbourne, Jan. 23. J ; To day was the hottest day in the city '•'"•• foryears ; £ 108 was recorded in the shade and 112 in the observatory. Tonight in the city there was a blinding dust stprmibut in the evening it was followed by rain, which cooled the atmosphere.
