10 NEW CRUISERS TO BE BUILT. (Per Press Association.) London, January 15. The Admiralty has called for tenders for the construction of ten cruisers, to be completed in a year. The Standard, referring to the loyal assurance from the Australian Governments, considers this timely sympathy exceedingly welcome. The Hon. Mr Balfour, in accepting the freedom of the city of Glasgow, said the Britishers at Home and in the colonies were not undivided in their intention to defend the rights of the Empire. Prince Henry of Battenburg is im. proving.
