A splendidly contes- * ted’race, and exciting finish, Hellings winning by a few inches; time, 2mm 52 secs. Hoey and Bailey, New Zealand, ' finished 3rd in. their respective heats. Plunging Championship—Peat, of East / Sydney, 66ft 10£in, 1; Stapeleton, 63ft, 2; Harvey, 60ft, 3. Peate’s performance . creates a world's record, previously held by Taylor, of England, with 66ft 7in.
