(Per Press Association). Auckland, January 15. Several tobacco robberies are reported. At the inquest on the body of Nellie Perkins, at Glorit, a victim ofjthe Kaipara boating fatality, a verdict of acci dently drowned was returned. A rider was aded appreciating Edward’s bravery in trying to save the party, but the jury considered the boat overcrowded.
Bishop Luck is in a precarious state of health from heart affection.
Dunedin, January 15
The City Council decided to-night to try and secure a new site for abattoirs. There are 17 applicants for the position of two assistant inspectors required by the Education Board. Most of the candidates are teachers in the Board’s service.
