Mr Beeves Appointed AgentGeneral.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, January 5. The appointment of Mr Beeves as Agent-General has been confirmed, and be leaves Wellington for London on the 10th inst. The Governor expects to reach Lyttelton on the 13th inst., when he will receive Mr Beeves resignation for Christchurch City. A new writ will follow, immediately and it is expected the election will take place early in February. Wellinfton, Jan. 6. The Times announces definitely that Mr Beeves has accepted the office of Agent- General, and will leave for London in the course of a few days.
